Signing up to the new frontier,
Travelling to no atmosphere.
One-way ticket to the unknown,
Knowing there’s no direction home.
Voyaging in to the abyss,
Never a chance to reminisce.
Resistance now simply an Ohm,
Knowing there’s no direction home.
Searching for life, to let one go,
New sets of dice you get to throw.
Untrodden paths you will now roam,
Knowing there’s no direction home.
Caged like a bird, to set you free,
Never a thought for irony.
Your last abode now just a dome,
Knowing there’s no direction home.
Where there was hope now there is doubt,
Your sacrifice will be for nowt.
Is this truth too close to the bone,
Knowing there’s no direction home.
Sailing now in your ship of glass,
Thrown into space by burning gas.
Who will be first to cast the stone,
Knowing there’s no direction home.
In your empty space cavity,
Swiss clinic with no gravity.
Silent prayer in your church of chrome.
Knowing there’s no direction home.
Gone bust with no option to fold,
No receipt left to return what’s sold.
Rates are far too high on this loan,
Knowing there’s no direction home.
Placed in the stars as man’s effigy,
Too far gone for this elegy.
Paradise lost now you’re alone,
Knowing there’s no direction home.
