You Need to Sate Your Thirst with One More Drop

We know that smoking pot can change your mind,

That alcohol can wreck not just your life;

A link between the two has been defined:

More ganja leads to more drinking and strife.

That alcohol can wreck not just your life

Is something that surrounds us every day;

More ganja leads to more drinking and strife,

With every spliff your guidance ebbs away.

Is something that surrounds us every day

At blame for our ineptitude to stop?

With every spliff your guidance ebbs away;

You need to sate your thirst with one more drop.

At blame for our ineptitude to stop:

To some extent the bulk of hash you choke;

You need to sate your thirst with one more drop,

That you will not be quenched is habit’s joke.

To some extent the bulk of hash you choke

Will increase your dependence on the drink;

That you will not be quenched is habit’s joke,

Into arms of dependence you will sink.

Will increase your dependence on the drink?

A link between the two has been defined.

Into arms of dependence you will sink;

We know that smoking pot can change your mind.

This is a pantoum that is written about this piece of research, which found that adults who use marijuana are five times more likely to develop an alcohol use disorder (AUD) – alcohol abuse or dependence – compared with adults who do not use the drug.
