Ancient submerged volcanoes Rise up from the ocean floor, Their tips littering the landscape As tremendous shadows of the past Cast a barely visible film

Ancient submerged volcanoes Rise up from the ocean floor, Their tips littering the landscape As tremendous shadows of the past Cast a barely visible film
At the far edges of the world, Hidden deep amongst the Raging seas and rising waves Laze a series of secret atolls and coral coves;
The island shores run red with blood, As vermin stalk and kill their prey; A grisly, feather-strewn display, As flights are culled with deathly thud.
A ring of coral Floating on seas of hubris – Lost beneath the waves This is a haiku, inspired by recent research which has found
