The Rondeau Bloop

The thumping sound of a breaking heart,

Heard across the ocean blue,

By sensors continents apart;

The thumping sound of a breaking heart:

A sound completely off the chart,

An organic sound, now heard as new.

The thumping sound of a breaking heart,

Heard across the ocean blue.

No whale could make such abstract art,

The thumping sound of a breaking heart;

Sped up, a ‘Bloop’ of just one part,

Out of Lovecraft’s nightmare stew.

The thumping sound of a breaking heart,

Heard across the ocean blue.

Mystery solved, ‘twas no dark art,

The thumping sound of a breaking heart;

As ice and land are torn apart,

Mankind must now wake up to

The thumping sound of a breaking heart,

Heard across the ocean blue.
